Schubladendenken

Schubladendenken is a german word for pigeon-hole thinking. I created a book that critically examines prejudice thinking.

The textual content is a collage of different articles on the topic. The books layout, typography and illustration symbolicly resemble the contents of the text.

The text starts talking about the evolutionary development and reasons for prejudice thinking. The design in this part is reduced, rigid, dull and features illustrations representing certain stereotypes.

After a graphical transition part the text speaks of problems in the modern society that are being caused by prejudice thinking. The design changes accordingly and becomes flexible, bold and features images that have been edited beyond recognition.
